Scicli: fractions of Donnalucata and Sampieri
Sampieri
Sampieri is a small seaside village characterised by stone houses; its horizon is dominated by the silhouette of the ancient 'Fornace Penna' called 'Pisciotto', the ruins of a former brick factory burnt down in the early 20th century. The village is set between two wonderful beaches: the one the East reaches the 'Pisciotto' and the smaller one at 'Costa di Carro' is an attractive destination during the summer holidays.
Donnalucata
Donnalucata, an ancient fishermen’s village, is a small outlying locality of Sicli. The characteristic fish market takes place next to the small port. Its seaside promenade and the parallel street above it are the preferred meeting place for natives and tourists. |
